# Choose your analytics preferences

## How the administrator uses reports

The admin dashboard can show **User behavior** reports with page categories, click counts, action failures and signup-to-publish progress. These reports include only visitors who allow analytics and exclude admin activity. They do not show input values, names or emails. The **Heatmaps** page shows coarse click positions within approved areas of the landing page, dashboard, editor and designer, over the current pages in read-only previews. Customer screens show the admin account’s portfolio; positions are approximate because layouts can change. Optional masked recordings are reviewed separately in PostHog.

## Make your choice

When analytics is enabled, a banner asks for permission. **Allow analytics** measures usage without recordings. **No thanks** turns both off. **Analytics preferences** opens separate choices.

## Optional recordings

**Usage analytics** measures page categories, clicks and action outcomes. **Masked session recordings** is a separate choice that requires usage analytics. It records a sample of supported screens with text and inputs hidden and images blocked. Admin, sign-in, checkout, messages, settings and public portfolio pages are excluded from recording.

## Change or withdraw consent

1. **Open Analytics preferences** — Find **Analytics preferences** in the footer or at the bottom of the app sidebar.
2. **Choose what to allow** — Turn **Usage analytics** off to stop both analytics and recordings, or turn only **Masked session recordings** off.
3. **Save preferences** — Press **Save preferences**. Your choice is remembered for 180 days on this host. Withdrawing stops new collection and clears analytics identifiers on this device.

Previously collected records are not deleted by this switch. Contact us through the [Privacy Policy](https://www.launchfolio.live/privacy) to request access or deletion. If analytics is disabled for the service, the banner and preferences button are hidden.
