# Billing and renewals

> Your site is a yearly plan: $30 the first year, then $15 a year. Reminders, paying early or late, what happens if you don’t renew, and the Billing tab.

You pay for your site one year at a time. Nothing is charged automatically: we remind you, and you renew when you’re ready.

## What you pay, and when

Add-ons are extras you add from the **Add-ons** page: a domain like `yourname.com` (see [Use your own domain](https://www.launchfolio.live/docs/en/custom-domain)), and **Animations**, so visitors see the animations you made in the Designer (see [Animate your page](https://www.launchfolio.live/docs/en/designer#animations)). Each add-on is for the site you add it to. Added partway through that site’s year, you pay only for the months left until its renewal, and part of a month counts as a whole one. After that, it renews with that site. No add-ons, nothing extra.

> **Good to know:** Nothing is charged automatically. You pay each year yourself, the same ways as the first time: card (when it’s available), bank transfer or a voucher code. When card payments are on, each reminder email has a **Pay … by card** button that opens this year’s secure card page straight away.

## Your renewal date, and what happens around it

- **Your plan starts** — On the day your first year is paid. Your renewal date is one year later. [Done]
- **30 days before** — We email you a reminder. Your dashboard and the editor show **Renews in …** with the days left. [You are here]
- **7 days before** — Another reminder email.
- **On the renewal date** — A last reminder. If you haven’t paid, your site stays online for now.
- **14 more days** — Your site stays live. Your dashboard and the editor show **Payment late — your site goes offline on …** with the date.
- **Paused** — If it’s still unpaid, your site goes offline. Nothing is deleted.
- **180 days after pausing** — Deleted, with its files. We email you a warning on day 150 and day 173 of the pause.

## If your site is paused

- Visitors see **This site is taking a short break. Please check back soon.** and an **Owner? Sign in to bring it back** link.
- Nothing is deleted: your words, photos, design and messages are all kept.
- You can still sign in, edit and pay. Your dashboard and the editor show **Paused — renew to bring it back**.
- Pay and your site is back online straight away. There is no second review.

> **Paused sites are deleted after a while:** A site that stays paused for 180 days is deleted with its uploaded files, and its name can be taken by someone else.

## Paying early, paying late

| You pay | Your new year starts |

| Before your renewal date | On your old renewal date. Paying early never loses you any days. |
| After your renewal date | On the day you pay. |

- Each extra site has its own renewal date and its own add-ons, and is paid for on its own. See [Add another site](https://www.launchfolio.live/docs/en/more-sites).
- Free trial: your first year starts when you pay, not when the trial starts.
- Sale prices are for the first year only. Renewals are always the usual price.

## Paid before yearly plans started?

Your site renews one year after it started. If that date has already passed, or is very close, you get at least 30 days from when yearly plans began. We email you your date.

## The Billing tab

1. **Open **Settings**** — At the bottom of your dashboard’s sidebar.
2. **Open the **Billing** tab** — It shows your plan, your next bill, and every payment for this site.
3. **Press **Renew now** to pay for your next year** — The payment choices open right there in the Billing tab, the same as when you signed up: card, bank transfer or voucher code. By card, the secure card page opens in a new tab, and once you’ve paid, the page brings you back to the Billing tab by itself.

1. **Your plan**: the day your plan started and the day it renews.
2. **Next bill**: **Yearly renewal** $15, plus **Custom domain add-on** $10 and **Animations add-on** $10 if you have them, and the total with the price per month, billed yearly. Try the switches to see each one.
3. **Renew now** shows the payment choices for your next year, right in this tab. You can pay any time, even months early.
4. **Payments**: each payment for this site, with the date, what it was for, the amount and how you paid.

| **Payment late — your site goes offline on …** | Your renewal date has passed. Your site stays live for 14 days, then pauses. |
| **Paused — renew to bring it back** | Your site is offline. Renew and it’s back straight away. |

## Common questions

**Will I be charged automatically?**
No. We email you before your renewal date, and you pay yourself from the **Billing** tab.

**How much is it per month?**
There is no monthly bill. You pay once a year: $30 the first year ($2.50/month, billed yearly), then $15 a year ($1.25/month, billed yearly).

**Do I pay for my custom domain every year?**
Yes, while you have the custom domain add-on: it renews with your site, so the renewal is $25 a year instead of $15.

**Do I pay for animations every year?**
Yes, while you have the animations add-on: it renews with your site, so the renewal is $25 a year instead of $15.

**I have two sites. Do my add-ons cover both?**
No. Each add-on is for one site, and it renews with that site, on that site’s renewal date. Each site is paid for on its own, even when two sites renew on the same day.

**What if I forget to renew?**
Your site stays live for 14 days after the renewal date, then pauses. Pay any time and it comes back. After 180 days paused, it’s deleted.

**Can I use a voucher code to renew?**
Yes. Press **Renew now** and pick **Voucher code**.
