# Build your site

> How the Launchfolio editor works: sections, adding photos, videos and your résumé, writing text, and how your changes save on their own.

Everything you write and upload lives in the editor. Your changes save on their own, and nobody sees them until you publish.

## The editor at a glance

**Practice copy** (`launchfolio.live/your-name/edit`): A cut-down editor. Change the name or headline and watch it save.
1. Your page’s sections, in a list. Pick one to edit it. **Add section** adds your own.
2. The section you picked. Profile comes first: your photo, name and a one-line headline.
3. Changes save on their own about a second after you stop typing.
4. Nothing is public until you press **Publish**. Before you pay, this button has a crown and opens checkout.

The editor opens at `/your-name/edit`. On a phone, the list of sections becomes a row of buttons along the top.

## Sections you can use

| Section | What it’s for | Can you move or delete it? |

| **Profile** | Photo, name, headline, bio, contact details, links, résumé. | No, it’s always first. |
| **Education**, **Experience** | A timeline of schools and jobs. | You can rename and hide them. |
| **Videos & Media** | Video and audio links. | You can rename and hide it. |
| **List of items** | Skills, services, awards, projects: each with an icon, title and details. Up to 60. | Yes. |
| **Photo gallery** | Many photos at once, as a grid, masonry or slideshow. Up to 120. | Yes. |
| **Flex Block** | A free layout: place text, images, buttons and lines anywhere. | Yes. |

> **Good to know:** A section with nothing in it doesn’t show on your page, even when it’s switched on.

## Add, rename, move and hide sections

1. **Press **Add section**** — Pick a kind: List of items, Photo gallery or Flex Block. You can have up to 20 of your own.
2. **Rename it** — Type in **Section title on your page** at the top of the section.
3. **Hide it for now** — Turn off **Show on my page**. It stays in the editor, just not on your site.
4. **Move it** — Use **Move up** and **Move down**. Only sections you added can move.
5. **Delete it** — Press **Delete section** and confirm. Everything in it is removed.

## Photos, videos and files

| Résumé or CV | PDF or Word | 10 MB |
| Video file | MP4 or WEBM (only as a Designer background) | 50 MB |

You can drag a file onto the upload box instead of choosing it. In a gallery you can pick many photos at once.

> **Before you pay:** You can upload photos and CVs, up to 25 MB in total. Video files unlock once your site is paid for; until then, add videos as a YouTube or Vimeo link. See [Pay to publish](https://www.launchfolio.live/docs/en/pay-and-review#before-you-pay).

## Adding video and audio

1. **Open **Videos & Media****
2. **Paste the link into **Paste a video link** and press Add** — We read the title and picture from the link.
3. **Check the details and save** — If the link can’t be read, press **Fill in the details myself**.

Works with YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Loom, Spotify, SoundCloud and most other video sites.

> **Google Drive links:** Share the file as **Anyone with the link** first, or we can’t read it.

## Writing text

- Longer texts, like **About you**, have bold, italic, bullet and numbered lists, and links.
- To add a link, press the link button and fill in **Text to show** and **Link address**. To change a link later, click it in the text.
- One-line texts, like your headline, allow bold, italic and links only.
